Learning Support
As a school we aim to enable each child to achieve their potential by providing a curriculum that is broad, balanced and differentiated. The curriculum is designed to account for the particular learning difficulties and the developmental level of each child. Our team of Learning Support staff offers additional support to help pupils develop the skills they need to progress across the curriculum; both 1:1 lessons and small group work are employed to offer a boost where necessary.
The principle of identifying children’s individual challenges and needs at an early stage is embedded in our classroom ethos. Parents, pupils and individual teachers are consulted so that the appropriate arrangements are put into place. The Learning Support team monitors the progress of pupils on our Learning Support Register and they work closely with subject teachers to provide the best strategies for children to thrive both in the classroom and beyond.
